My Liz Earle Festival Skincare Routine.

Festival season is officially over, and this year I was so happy to be able to see out my final festival of the season at Bestival. I’d never been before, which is crazy considering I’m from the south, and it’s almost mandatory that you go if you’re from a seaside town as it’s just so easy to get to. I finally crossed this one off my list and was so honoured to have been given this opportunity by the lovely people at Liz Earle. The Isle of Wight is not only the home of Bestival, but also Liz Earle, so it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit.
We experienced a weekend of wellness with yoga, Liz Earle Facials and great food, whilst also running round Bestival, listening to amazing music, covering ourselves in glitter and eating really naughty food. It’s all about balance.
Festival weekends are so much fun, but they can also give your skin a real hammering. Whether you’re a makeup lover like myself and really enjoy going to town with glitter on your face, or you’re a happy camper who loves the mud. It can all build up, and I never want to spent days trying to soothe my skin post festival, so below I’ve listed my festival skincare routine and tips for pre, during and post festival fun!
Before you go anywhere, pack accordingly. I always enjoy packing my beauty stash, and although I’m talking about skincare at a festival which might seem a bit much to some, it doesn’t have to be too complicated or take up too much space. The Liz Earle Essentials Try Me Kit is perfect for festivals or just a weekend away, as it has everything you could need to take care of your skin in miniature form. It has a mini of the well known Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Eyebright Soothing Lotion and Skin Repair Moisturiser – all in one teeny pouch with a muslin cloth thrown in too.
My number one priority has been to cleanse, no matter how lazy or incapable I feel, I’ve always managed to do it. Everyday for the past eight years! Even at Reading 2010 I cleansed my skin each night using a bottle of waterloo rinse product off my skin! During the Bestival weekend I used the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to cleanse my skin and it worked a dream at helping that glitter slide straight off my face!
I also discovered this weekend that if you’re prone to experiencing breakouts, the Eyebright Soothing Lotion is great not only for your eyes, but all over your skin as it contains witch hazel, which can help to keep break outs at bay during the long weekend
One of the most important parts of a long, hot festival weekend is to keep your body hydrated. This is vital for your wellbeing and also helps to keep your skin in check too – it’s a win-win situation. I always make sure at least every other drink I have during a festival is water to make sure I don’t dehydrate.
To give my skin that extra boost of hydration I used the Instant Boost Skin Tonic generously all over my skin before moisturising using the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser to finish up my routine.
Once I arrive home from any trip away I always use a detox mask as a way of asking my skin for forgiveness! As the name would suggest, the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask works wonders giving your skin a real deep cleanse! I’m also on a week full of exercise and healthy eating (obviously not counting Wednesday night because, duh, it’s bake off) to try and say sorry for all the drinks and pizza stands I ate from!
