LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW FOUNDATION
We may only be a few weeks in to 2016, but I already have a new foundation that it a strong contender for foundation of the year. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation is the newest addition to the Les Beiges range. It’s a collection that not only is my favourite of all Chanel products, but also now contains my new favourite foundation from the brand and a strong contender for one of my all time favourite base products.
I’ve been asked a lot for my thoughts on this, and although it’s pretty obvious as to the main consensus here I’m going to talk you through it in a little more detail. For starters, the packaging for me is a total dream. I’m not opposed to the Vitalumiere Aqua style packaging, but at the same time it doesn’t please me in the same way a little frosted glass does. Despite this style packaging being a little more on the heavy side, the bottle feels far less chunky than the Perfection Lumiere (possibly due to the smaller lid?) so packing this in to my makeup bag doesn’t feel like a squeeze.
I use the shade N° 30 which is a great match for my winter skin tone, There are nine shades in the range (two that seem to be for those with more pink toned skins), and although I’m able to find good matches within the Chanel colour spectrum I do wish there were half shades added!
And then we have the product itself. This base sits between the Vitalumiere Aqua and Perfection Lumiere in terms of finish. It’s luminous, but not too dewy and is a far more creamy consistency than that of V.A. Think the magic foundation with a little more of an everyday skin finish, or Dior’s Nude Skin BB Cream with more buildability. It’s light to medium coverage depending on how you apply it (beauty blenders give a lighter coverage on the first layer where as fingers and more dense brushes give a more medium coverage) and is so easy to build up without looking like you’ve gone too far.
TLDR: IT’S DREAMY. WELL WORTH A PURCHASE FOR THOSE WITH NORMAL TO DRY SKIN.
