I have to admit I’m one of those people that doesn’t like travelling in sweats. I’d much prefer to wear a nice pair of shorts than leggings but in LA found myself without anything to travel back to the UK in – no comfortable shorts, no jumper. Luckily I had a bit of a shopping moment in Santa Monica and picked up a few pieces that turned out to be perfect for the flight home.
The first purchase of the day was from Brandy Melville – I’ve never really found much I like in the UK store, but the US has far more variety and I left with a cute little t-shirt and the jumper in these photos. It’s cosy but breathable all at the same time and the material falls in that perfect loose way.
I then popped in to Nordstrom (originally to check out a few Phillip Lim bags – naughty) but ended up leaving with these lace trim shorts. They’re the perfect fit for my small frame – high waisted but long enough to be flattering on the legs and oh so comfortable. I haven’t really stopped wearing them as they’re perfect for the UK summer too. Bridging the smart/casual gap in my wardrobe that I never seem to have enough of.
I teamed these pieces with my Celine Sunglasses (a pre- LA purchase that haven’t really left my face/head over the past month, and Stella McCartney espadrilles which I finally broke in during my stay in the US and are now the most comfortable summer shoe!
