I may have missed the Chalet restaurant hidden away at the top of Selfridges earlier this year, but there was no way I could pass up a trip to Vintage Salt, the latest to take residence in the space. I went on a little lunch date with Victoria and absolutely loved it! Decked out with nautical sea side vibes, it feels summery even on the most dreary day, and of course I feel right at home there. They have a great lunch menu, pink lemonade (amongst a whole host of amazing drinks) and a desert menu that’s to die for.
In aid of trying as much on the menu as physically possible, I opted for a starter of pea soup and a crust loaf as my main (FYI I didn’t eat ALL that bread for those wondering right now). Pea soup is not something I’d usually go for, it doesn’t normally appeal to me (Ap-PEA-l… Geddit? No? Okay I’ll Stop) as most normally lack any real flavour. But this one was so delicious and creamy that I’m genuinely considering going back for round two of pea soup!
If that wasn’t enough… Dessert was mind blowing-ly scrumptious, with Chocolate Burgers (chocolate in sweet buns, churro ships plus chocolate dipping sauce) and Chocolate Sunday Melts (Salted caramel ice cream, warm brownie and toasted marshmallows).
Lovely food and lovely company – I’ve been eating out a lot recently (sorry insides), so prepare for a few more like this over the next few weeks!
