You know I love a Get Ready With Me, out of all videos I think they’re my favourite to watch and make – flippin’ hard work, but worth it. A few of you tweeted me with prom related video requests and I thought a GRWM would cover all of them. Even though mine was five years ago I thought this would be helpful as it’s a recreation of what I went for back in the day, maybe with a little more skill in the makeup department, and is simple enough that it can be transferred to any special occasion.
Although I normally wear my hair down for special occasions, I went for fishtail milkmaid braids almost by accident as I was playing around whilst filming. I think they’re perfect for special occasions as they take a fair while longer than the usual milkmaid braids (I would not do these every morning!) but are much neater than your standard braids. Not to mention that little bit more interesting.
As for the dress, I went for a simple little black number off the ASOS petite section. I needed to pick up a new LBD and thought this one was perfect for this video. The back detailing is very cute, but simple and can be dressed up or down easily. This dress + a crop black jumper and sandals take this from special occasion to summer garden party (yep, all black in summer – Suzie style).
Gorgeous look! My year 11 prom was four years ago now, crazy, and I can't believe it's been two years since my Sixth Form one was on a boat on the Thames! x
