Tropical print is making its mark this summer and, although I’m fearful that we’re all one step away from a Hawaiian print shirt situation, I’m loving it. This one can stay. You know me, from pineapples, to palm trees – they’re some of my favourite things and seeing them making their way in to print makes me very happy. I’d uhmm-ed and arrrr-ed about these Tropical shorts from ASOS for a while, before purchasing them and leaving them in my wardrobe for the past two months. They just look so much better without tights so I’ve been waiting for the right weather to justify cracking them out. But summer has arrived, and although the weather is ever changing, I’ve managed to fit them into a simple layered outfit, making them wearable on cooler summer days.
The real trick when you’re going bare legs is to compensate elsewhere, so if it’s not overly warm then boots are a must. Mine are from Topshop, and although they’re one step away from my 15 year old goth child style, I love them. They’re super easy to walk in and keep my feet toasty. My Zara crop top is also a favourite to wear with these shorts. Although it’s thin it keeps me really warm and on mild days negates the need for a jacket. If it is slightly chillier, you know the Dorothy Perkins faux leather jacket is getting cracked out.
And then there’s that darn turban/headband again – need I address that?
