This weekend I thought I’d mix things up a little. Instead of telling you what I’ve done (save that for next week) I thought I’d throw together the three steps that guarantee I’ll feel like I had a weekend well spent come Monday morning.
Step One: Fill your fridge with nice food. This doesn’t have to be junk food, it can be any kind of food you like – as long as it makes a good snack. I’m on a dairy free roll at the moment, but I’ve recently discovered the combination of hazelnut milk and coco-pops. Dreamy. I also love chocolate rice milk and who wouldn’t say no to popcorn?! My favourite is sweet and salty (let me know your favourite in the comments – am I alone with the S&S love?). I also make sure I keep hydrated as well, so I fill up my favourite glass (yes, I have a favourite) and keep it beside me at all times.
Step Two: Have a bath and give your face some TLC. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who’s skin has gone completely mental over the past few months? As a result I’ve been a lot more aware of how I look after it. For bath times I’ve been loving the This Works Deep Sleep Shower Gel and on my face I’ve picked up an old favourite I wrote off a few years back: Ren’s Hydra Calm Cleansing Milk. I didn’t rate it when I had oily skin, but right now it is like heaven on my face. I’ve also tried to get back into face masks, but with all the dry skin it feels slightly difficult. For Christmas Luce bought me the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque, a clay mask that leaves your skin feeling fresh, but not as stripped as the origins mask. I like.
Step Three: Oh boy do I love step three. Find your favourite pyjamas – I picked mine up in the Zara sale this week – aren’t they beauts!? – cosy up your feet in slippers/thermal socks/both if you’re me (my flat is like the arctic, because I still won’t put the heating on) and put on your favourite TV series with the intention of watching at least five episodes back to back before you have to get up and do something else. My favourites are Scandal, Eastenders (the omnibus, I’m always behind) and Sherlock.
I haven’t actually done any of this this yet this weekend, so now I’m both hungry and so ready to get cracking with my face masks. Let me know if you follow the three step routine today (there’s still time to cancel your plans, I joke, kind of.) and let me know what your favourite food/face mask/tv is so I can add some new ones into the mix!
Have a lovely (lazy) Sunday! x
