Ever have it where a product suddenly pops up on every email, Instagram snap and tweet and you just can’t get it off your mind? The Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade was everywhere I looked a few weeks back and, unsurprisingly, it was out of stock in my shade when I went to purchase it from Cult Beauty. I went on the waiting list and no less than a week later it was back. I snapped it up with Fed Ex express delivery (expensive, but being an ASOS VIP has spoilt me) and in less than 24 hours I had both the Dipbrow and some serious skincare treats landing on my desk.
What, how & why? A little pot of brow goodness with a waxy/creamy consistency. I apply it with my angled brush from MAC and use it to both fill and shape my brows. It’s slightly warmer than my usual brow fillers of choice and oh boy is it pigmented (FYI: I use “dark brown”). After giving my brush a little whirl in the pot I dust the bulk of the product onto the back of my hand, this way I’m not sporting any crazy brows and I can correct mistakes easier.
I’m not quite selling it here am I? So let me explain the “why”… Firstly, this stuff does. not. budge. The reason I like to apply it in small amounts is because it sets super fast and stays all day, for someone who can quite often be seen rubbing her temples/forehead/general face, this is a life saver. Secondly, although there’s a serious pigment to this I find the formula really easy and satisfying to work with. I love working with an angled brush but find powder really difficult to shape with, where as the creamy consistency allows me to shape and build without it rubbing off a few minutes later or looking too off in the shade department.
What do you think? If you’re on UK soil and looking to get your hands on the stuff then make your way over to the beauty black hole that is Cult Beauty. Just a warning, I have a feeling there’s a waiting list…
Edit: A few of you have asked whether the product is a perfect match for my brows. It’s not the perfect shade. As I said above it’s a little warmer, so with my ashy toned brows I use a small amount and it matches really well. If you have darker, warmer brows then you’ll need to build up a little more.
