The Weekender: Diners and Gingerbread Baking

This weekend my lovely friend Luce (blog link here) came to stay with me for a carb filled weekend of pizza, diners and baking. It was so fun and I loved seeing her as I hadn’t seen her since the summer!

On Saturday morning we went for brunch, the original plan was Bills but we were slightly too late for breakfast and Luce and I were desperately in need of pancakes. There are a lot of places around that serve pancakes in Brighton but to guarantee total yummy-ness and “so full I can’t move” waddling home, we chose JB’s. Somehow a post on this one has passed me by – even though I go there regularly and have been for the past three years. The food is always super yummy and you get so much food on your plate that I’ve never been able to finish a meal there.

We all opted for milkshakes, Luce and Josh went for Oreo and I went for an Oreo and Mint hybrid, my favourite. They’re served in a glass but you also get a full metal tumbler to accompany it *insert heart emoji’s here*. Luce and I went for the Cowboy Pancakes – maple syrup and bacon with pancakes? Yes it sounds weird and yes it is delicious. We also had a side of chips, as you do with breakfast…

Next on our list of things to do was a little snoop around Space NK and MAC, we both managed to resist buying something *pats self on back*, before coming home and baking an enormous amount of gingerbread cookies to get us in the festive spirit. Because me forcing Luce to listen to the Elf soundtrack in the morning clearly wasn’t enough.

What’s on the agenda for this week? Aside from a serious flat tidy (even Luce was slightly shocked), Christmas decoration shopping, food shopping (Mmmmm), two trips to London, a Christmas party and a crazy amount of present shopping. I have an awful feeling I’m going to be that person that leaves everything until Christmas eve….

I absolutely love JB's, I've never been able to finish meal there either! the burgers are just so filling, but I really need to make sure I try the pancakes there next time as I usually opt to going to woodies for pancakes!
