Whether you have super sleek hair, or are even lucky enough to naturally sport some kind of beach babe wave, we all need a little added texture to our hair sometimes. Not only can texturising products give an effortless “just rolled out of bed look” to various hair styles, it also helps in the styling process. Preventing those *insert angry face emoji here* moments post hair wash moments. Sounds appealing right? Keep reading for my guide on all things texturised:
Best for fine hair: Although I use all the products above, I definitely fit most comfortably into this category and have found that the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dry Spun Finishing Spray* gives a weightless texture to the hair, and seeing as my hair can be a little coarse all on it’s own, this one isn’t too OTT. Having fine hair I also find that texture does it’s thing best when teamed with volume – enter the Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray – yes a seriously spendy moment did occur in Space NK, but I can’t fault this. It’s completely weightless and adds some serious oomph to my hair. Did I just fall in love with a super pricey hair product. Yes, yes I did.
Best for thick, glossy locks: This one wins against the Bumble & Bumble Dryspun spray in the texture department. However for fine hair that already has a little texture already this can be a little weighty and just slightly too much, but for ladies who are lucky enough to have all the hair, but struggle for any kind of grip, this one is probably better suited.
Good all rounders: The Bumble & Bumble Surf Shampoo is a great product for adding subtle texture and makes styling straight after washing a breeze. It can be a tiny bit drying which is something to keep in mind if you have coloured hair. Fortunately my hair now has 0 dye in it at all so I can use this without even giving it a second thought. I’n terms of heat protection I’ve found that a fair few can be a little weighty, which doesn’t work so well if you’re after bouncy light as air locks. The Redken Extreme Anti Snap Leave In Treatment For Distressed Hair (phew! *takes big breath*) does an amazing job of protecting without weighing you down.
I'm loving your hair posts recently especially because it's nice to read about how products work for other people before buying some for yourself. There's so many hair products out there and all of these sound lovely, thank you for the post!

I'd love to try the B&B texturising spray, I'm just concerned that it's going to make the hair a bit too matte for my liking. Xx

I am always interested in posts like these having extremely fine and thin hair. I have a hard time relating completely, though as I think yours is full and has a lot of volume, but maybe that's all the smart styling, which I don't do! 🙂 Gotta try and see 🙂
Thanks for sharing 🙂

Great post. I have REALLY thick hair so it gets weighed down at the top making it look flat so i'm always looking for products that will give my roots some volume. I'll have to research some of these. Thanks 🙂 xx

Ah I was thinking of buying bumble and bumble surf spray but was worried it would have a drying effect as my hair is naturally quite dry anyway!! Think I may steer away now but the thickening sprays sound amazing! Justine xx

The best product for thick glossy hair is not clear, do you mean the B&B is the best or Oribe?
