The Emergency Routine

Today I thought it was about time to pay tribute to the products that really have kept my skin from oozing off my face over the past week. Be it a product caused breakout or lack of sleep – my skin just isn’t letting me get away with anything, add a trip to Paris next week into the mix and I decided it was time to go into the emergency routine.

Morning: For starters, I’m completely bare faced. Even as I type this at my desk at work – bare faced (apart from my eyebrows, naturally). And i’ve been in bed by 10:30pm every night this week, hence the lack of early morning posting. During the day I’m spilling on the Origins Super Spot Remover like it’s going out of style and making sure I drink copious amounts of green tea and water. And eating fish for lunch every day.

Evening: The Second I get home I wash my face with my Pai Cleanser from my trial pack – it’s a beaut! Full review on it’s way – and use a round cotton pad to apply the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Brightening Toner, something I never really saw the benefits of until now (but make sure you SPF it up if you’re going outside, kids!). It’s really helped to keep spots at bay and is the only thing I’ve ever used that has reduced black heads. After this I apply more Super Spot Remover and then continue to alter this and my Balance Me Radiance Facial Oil as instructed by the skincare queen herself – Caroline. It really does work and I’d recommend giving her post on break outs a read. Then I go in with moisturiser before bed as usual.

Extras: Every few days, post cleanse I also use one of my Origins masks depending on what is going on with my face. The Out of Trouble Mask is great for already existing spots, and the clear improvement mask is great for keeping blemishes at bay.

Add in some leafy green meals with a side of broccoli (ewwwww) and my skin isn’t looking too bad. There’s still a little bit of build up under the skin in places, but there’s been a marked improvement in my skins behaviour this week. Now I just need to pretend that chocolate and ice cream don’t exist until Monday…

I love this post! Skincare is my favourite…. I love knowing what other people do to save theirs, there are so many things that just *don't* do what I want and my skin is left worse off as a result. Sigh. Hard life, init?

Good luck with your pretending! I wish I could stick to not eating chocolate and ice cream but I just can't haha! I like to use the origins masks as well, and I have the body shop mini facial brush, that's really good to use with your cleanser when you wash your face, I've found 🙂 I'll be on the lookout for that toner though, it sounds great!

Oh dear, facial emergencies are the worst. I'm battling my way through one now and it's so depressing. The bonus is that I've started to use all natural products and they smell AMAZING. I guess everything has a silver lining somewhere.
