I know what you’re thinking. As if a girl like me would ever not love candles? It’s true I do love them all the time, but over the summer I spent more time using up my current candles than I did buying new ones. Can you even experience being in a candle rut? That’s kind of what it felt like. But over the past few months I’ve accumulated some new friends (including a very yummy mint and eucalyptus scent which will remain un-photographed until I get down to some serious wick saving – it’s currently drowning in itself), with each one of them settling in different parts of the flat. Below is the run down of my currently candle clan, and where they fit best into my routine:
Best for cleaning the flat days: My chalkboard cotton scented candle holder (top right) is quite possibly the best of the bunch, if not purely for its chalkboard holder (I haven’t drawn on it yet, but oh boy do I want to). The cotton scent gives off the “we’ve just cleaned the entire flat and done all our washing” feel, so I make sure this is one that gets lit at least an hour before my mum turns up at the door. They’re super hard to get hold of – I found mine in Homesence, but holders themselves can be found on Esty if you’re a make your own candle kinda girl.
Best for cosy nights in (read: every night): A christmas candle has already made an appearance in the form of the warm vanilla Flamingo Candle*(lower centre). They very kindly sent one over to get me in the festive spirit and it’s safe to say it worked. It’s beautiful rich colour and cute gold detailing on the front gives the whole experience a very warm and cosy feeling with a sweet little edge. They also do a white tea and mint scent. My bank balance is totally weeping but my nose is going to be thanking me.
Best for working from home: A grown up floral number from Next* (top left) is just what I need to keep me focused during a day of working from home. The sweet side keeps it to my taste and makes my room smell lovely, but there’s also something a little grown up and almost unisex about it so there’s not one peep from the boy. Perfect.
Am I done? Is this years candle collection complete? Not a chance! Let me know what you’re loving in the comments so I can add to the candle clan again this weekend. Sorry bank balance…
I don't like sweet and heavy scents so the one and only candle I loved so far is the cheap IKEA Tindra candle. The red one with red berries photo on top. It smells like a fruit tee with lemon juice. Can't get enough of it :). And it's super cheap so I don't have any worries about burning money :D.

Could you add the links to these candles? If there is one π

I love the new Yankee Candle in Merry Marshmallow – cannot get enough of it!! It is sweet but not too sickly, I sometimes find myself wanting to eat it..

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir is my absolutely favourite. The price tag means it only gets lit every once in a while though! x

I absolutely love candles! Henri Bendel always has really nice scents–especially the one called Firewood! I also love Bath & Body Works for the more inexpensive ones; the one in my room right now is B&BW London Calling tea & lemon and it smells exactly like black tea and lemon!

Yankee candles are the best budget candles! Their 'Sunlight on Snow' has a similar just washed clothes and fresh scent. The White Company do absolutely gorgeous candles too – MInt, Noir and the Lavender ones are my favourites π Horribly expensive though! Love reading your blog – it's so chilled! Rachel xxx

I'm a cozy festive candle all year round kind of person. I tend to pull my curtains in the middle of summer and burn my fall and winter candles.

I love the idea of using different candles for different parts of your daily routine. Personally there are a lot of scents I love, but somehow certain scents don't go with certain activities… I love burning cinnamon candles when I'm cleaning up my house but somehow it seems wrong when I'm working or writing on my blog, lol.
great post!
