The Weekender: Good Food & Bad Hair Days

This week feels like it’s been a crazy mess of no sleep, rainy days (hence the bad hair episode) and crazy London days. Next week already looks set to be the same so I prepared myself by getting a good 10 hours sleep each night over the weekend. Lushhhh.

This week I had what could probably have been the best Monday ever – parties should always be on Monday nights, it makes Tuesdays far more interesting – I headed up to London to shoot some internal footage for work before meeting Lauren and heading to our (questionable) hotel room. We threw our costumes on and flew up the road to centre point where I definitely overdid it. I have nothing more to say on the matter. Apart from – I did get to meet Tanya Burr and that has pretty much just tipped me over the edge this month. If anything else amazing happens I might explode.

On Tuesday Lauren and I were up at 7:30 after four hours sleep and seriously questioned why we ever thought planning to go for breakfast before work was a good idea. We arrived at The Breakfast Club in Soho and swiftly changed our minds once we saw the menu and I had a coffee in my hands – I broke my one goal for October! *sobs*. Lauren went for pancakes and I opted for poached eggs, avocado and chorizo which was nothing other than amazing. After a long day of work I made the journey back to Brighton – Stylist magazine in tow (you don’t even understand how much I hate waiting until Wednesday instead of Tuesday in Brighton) – and mentally ordered my dominoes pizza before I was even through the door.

The rest of the week is a fuzz of hungover feelings and stressful requests, I spent a good evening calling friends to catch up and let them know I was still alive, and made a mental note that I needed to go to Small Batch this weekend. That brings me to Small Batch. The place where food and coffee dreams are made for a super reasonable price. I ordered a ham and cheese bun with chocolate cake and a hot chocolate. I definitely didn’t need to eat again for a good eight hours after! Small Batch’s are scattered all around Brighton and Hove, so the next time you visit, hunt one down – you’ll probably see me there!

I agree – Monday nights out and about are the best, since Tuesday's are rather dull.
