The Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

There’s a first time for everything in H.O land, but I never imagined one of those firsts would be a drugstore foundation becoming my “go-to” for everyday wear. Usually my skin freaks out at the sight of a foundation from the isles of Boots and Superdrug, but after trying the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation on a complete whim I’ve found myself reaching for it every day, above my beloved tinted moisturisers and high end foundations. Say whaaauuut?!

I’m currently using a hybrid of Nude and Shell shades – even though the shade range is good for a drugstore brand I still have to be that person who is in between shades – call it the olive skin tone that hasn’t seen the sun in months, lack of gradual tanner on the face, or in the worlds of my other half: “difficult” Which ever is the case. I’m in between shades.

Aside from the who two bottle debacle I’ve been really impressed by this one. It has a watery consistency, not too dissimilar to the Jemma Kidd Light As Air foundation and has a similar finish too. Natural to Dewy depending on your skin type. The lasting power is not as fantastic on me but seeing as my daily routine involves going home and sitting on the sofa – I’m not so fussed about it not looking as pristine by 6pm. Then there’s the more obvious factor I’m loving – it’s not breaking me out. Lack of vegetables and too much chocolate is, yes, but not this one. *slathers on face*

So that’s one budget foundation securing it’s place in the beauty bag – so how about my other purchase – the Bourjois Happy Light? That one is a no go unfortunately ladies…

Do you find this foundation more moisturizing or oil-repressing? I've been interested in trying it out. I have the Nearly Naked Power and think it's pretty decent (especially considering it's a drugstore powder).

It's nice to know that you're not overly thrilled with the Bourjois Happy Light because everyone has been raving about it, and it's near impossible to get a hold of in the US. Thanks for sharing!

I have the shade 110 Ivory but it's too much pink toned for my neutral skin. I would love to buy the shade 120 because I can remember it was more yellowy so I could mixed them. But unfortunately we don't have revlon where I live :(.

I love this foundation! Its so lightweight on the skin and gives a perfect complexion. I'm going to dig it out now as you've reminded me how much I love it x

I've been trying out this foundation recently, and I quite like to too! Like you said though, the one thing I'm finding with it is that it's not all that long lasting, which is annoying with long days spent at uni!

I've been wanting to try this since it came out but I'm always confused about which colour is for me! I think that that is what scares me off. Its on offer at the moment so maybe I'l take the plunge 🙂

I always have a difficult time matching shades as well! I'm currently using the colorstay and the shade I have is a bit too light, so I'm thinking of getting the next shade up to mix them as well! This one sounds quite nice too though, thanks for the review!

I really want to try out this foundation now! Like you I've had bad experiences wit drugstore foundations including Rimmel Wake Me Up – they all just break me out! But this one sounds great! x

I like this foundation for summer, but during the colder months it just clings to all my dry patches, and fades so patchily.
    Glad it works for you.
Will you be doing a full review on the bourjois foundation?

I really want to try this foundation and you made me wanting it even more 🙂 I'm not used to wear foundation, so I want one that has a lighter coverage and not heavy and this one seems lovely. Do you think it would be good for combination skin?
