The Skincare Snippet #1

I love skincare, and my routines are something I can write/make videos about until I’m blue in the face. But nothing is quite like seeing a day to day routine in real time, and not all in one overwhelmingly long video. Cue “The Skincare Snippet”, a day to day update of the different product combinations I use and the reasons behind them. Some days the same product combinations will be the same – I like to keep my routine fairly consistant – so this series will probably be limited to once a week!

I split my skincare in to four or five steps, and try not to use any more than that as it feels like major overkill and I think it clogs my skin more than anything. But it tends to go something along the lines of: cleanser, toner, serums or treatments, and then moisturiser. Making sure products are applied in the order of lightest to heaviest.

Wednesdays Skincare Snippet:

Cleansing: I tend to use the same cleanser most mornings (the Una Brennan Deep Cleansing Face Wash – no SLS and no dry patches, just nice clean skin), so unless I mention otherwise let’s just assume this is always used to wash my face in the morning (and I do wash my face properly every single morning – Bioderma just isn’t the same).

Toner: This morning my skin wash feeling a little tight, as I used water that was slightly too hot for my skin so my toner of choice was the Liz Earl Instant Boost Skin Tonic. It’s hydrating and very soothing and is normally my toner of choice in the evening, but this morning my skin felt like it needed a little TLC.

Serum/Treatment: I followed up with Hydraluron to lock in extra moisture once I applied my moisturiser. This product is one of my most asked about (and I still haven’t fully reviewed it *slaps wrist*), in all honesty I think the more mature skin is, the more you will benefit from it. If you’re under 20 and your skin is more normal than anything, I wouldn’t bother.

Moisturiser: After I smoothed a pea sized amount of Hydraluron over my face I whipped out the latest Origins release: The GinZing Moisturiser. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this one, but I personally think it’s worth purchasing just for the smell alone. My dream of smelling like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange has come true. It’s not too heavy on the hydration side of things, so I find this is great for the summer months, but if you have very dry or dehydrated skin you might need an extra hydrating serum to go with it!

I can't wait to go to England and try Liz Earle products! That's the top of my list for when I study abroad there, hehe. Along with some Sleek blushes!

I can understand just using Bioderma on those lazy nights where you just want to get into bed, but I could never do that in the morning! I love having a fresh, clean face to start the day. Liz Earle skincare is just holy grail status to me. I think I'll be using Cleanse & Polish and Instant Boost Skin Tonic until the day I die! I love the toner so much, I haven't used anything else for the past two years! I'm curious to try Hydraluron because of all the rave, but my skin isn't dry, so it probably won't be that useful to me.

I have all of these too and love them! In fact, I'd forgotten about my Hydraluron, may pull that out of the stash to use sometime soon.

I also have heard so much about the Gin Zing moisturizer and it's found its way onto my wish list! I do have dryer skin so I also had my eyes on some of their more hydrating options. I have yet to find my skincare routine so this post is definitely inspiring!

I have the Liz Earle Toner, in fact it is very close to running out, a must re-purchase as it is such a wonderful product. I want to try your other two featured products as I've read so much about them, a little expensive to buy all at once though so I may have to spread the spending out a little.
