The Monthly Favourites: April

This month has seen me testing out so many new products I feel like my head may explode! I’ve loved so many things and it was really hard to narrow it down to just a few items, except in the case of my neon coral clutch/makeup and handbag hybrid – I use it every day in one form or another and it’s probably been the best £20 i’ve ever spent! If you fancy picking one up for yourself then you’ll find them hiding out at Urban Outfitters.

Coral bag aside (you’re all probably bored sick of it by now) and on to the makeup! I’ve been using my old Sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush a lot for concentrating products in the places that need more coverage and I realised how much I liked it before I joined the millions of thousands of people who now love the real techniques buffing brush. I’ve also been keeping my base very light and dewy and have pretty much used the Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Cream everyday for the past three weeks (excluding a brief stint with the This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle). It’s light and hydrating and you don’t even need to worry about whether it’s the right shade because there’s just one! If I remember correctly they’re also on offer on the Boots website at the moment – I may have to stock up…

Next up we have a few of my newer loves, starting with (drum roll please)… The Aerin Multi Colour for Lips and Cheeks. I have the shade 02 Freesia and which is a more coral pink in comparison to it’s bubblegum pink counterpart in 03 – don’t even get me started on 01, it’s just a nude blush with some shimmer. This is probably my favourite of all the cream blushes I’ve tried and it’s baby pink princess-like packaging just makes you feel a little bit special.

This month I also discovered the joys of a gel eye cream, I’m using the Elemis Fresh Skin Soothing Eye Gel*, and it works a treat at reducing puffy eyes in the morning. Gels are great because a little goes a long way and they can end up lasting forever, on top of that if you keep them in a fridge they’re extra refreshing in the morning! I also picked up the Una Brennan Rose Hydrating Facial Oil when I was on a bit of a mad one in Boots after work. It’s designed to be a pre cleansing oil and I use it on days where I’m not going to be using a hydrating cleanser just to balance things out. It smells amazing too so I find it really relaxing to use.

My final beauty favourite is one I did a review of in April – The Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. I also popped up a review of it’s newest partners in crime – The Suf shampoo and conditioner, but I digress. I’ve been using this on days where I curl my hair and really want to mess it up. I spritz a generous amount on and scrunch my hair – it looks huge and seriously messy – perfect!

For non beauty favourites, Daft Punk – Get Lucky has to be my favourite track for the month and a blogger I’ve really been loving is Luce (link here), I don’t think there’s a day where we aren’t jabbering away on twitter and she’s super lovely so go and check her blog out if you haven’t already! Another lovely lady i’d like to mention is Lauren (link here), I love her blog and she is just so super lovely and cute!

By now you’re most probably thinking: April favourites – in a blog post? I know it’s not my usual video but I was waiting for my new camera to come and when it did my room was too messy to film in! So I thought I’d mix it up a little as a few of you have asked for favourites to be written out! Hopefully I’ll get round to filming a new video soon – but I have to tackle the hideous mess that is my room first – SOS?

I've been wanting to try one of the Aerin Lip and Cheek colour for ages. I don't normally need blush because my cheeks are naturally rosy… but my gosh, they look beautiful!
