The Edit: An Introduction To Apivita

A few weeks back the lovely guys over at Apivita sent me one hefty parcel of goodies over to try out and after a good few weeks of working my way through I thought it was about time I picked out a few to show you guys. Apivita are a Greek brand and their aim is to produce natural and effective skincare products, so needless to say they had my attention from the start. As a whole, I really like Apivita as a brand, and although I’m not head over heels with every single item, there’s definitely something for everyone…

Let’s start with one of the new loves of my haircare life: The Apivita Volumising Shampoo*. This gives my hair so much lift at the roots and just leaves it sitting nicer each day. After trialling a fair few shampoos recently I realised I kept on going back to this one, and I’ve used it in every hair wash for a good three weeks now. It’s 87% natural which sounds good but my one peeve is that it still contains SLS – saying that, there are very few good shampoos which are SLS and this makes my hair look amazing so I can’t complain too much. It was sent alongside the shine and revitalising conditioner* – a nice little product but it smells far too lemony/zesty for my liking!

Hair talk out the way, let’s get on to skincare… Apivita masks are the one thing I really like to get excited about – ever since trying their moisturising and nourishing mask with honey a few years ago  I was very excited to try the Express Beauty Mask with Green Clay*. Very similar to the out of trouble charcoal mask by Origins, this helps to unclog pores and leaves you with clear, uncongested skins. It’s also mint green which is very fun.

And then there’s the Natural Serum with aloe and hyaluronic acid*. My skin is pretty settled at the moment in terms of being dry/dehydrated, but in the winter I can see this being used on a daily basis. Free from parabens, silicones and mineral oil amongst a whole hot of other ingredients you’d rather be without, it’s a nice natural option to add to your skincare routine. It also smells like holidays which I just lurveee. Apivita also do shower gels and cleansers, and whilst I wasn’t head over heels with the Cleansing Gel for Oily/Combination skin*, I ‘m incredibly close to ordering the Lavender and Almond shower gel – boyfriend, if you’re reading, take note 😉 – but alas, that will have to wait until payday.

I have to say on this occasion, Apivita didn’t disappoint. Any shampoo that knocks a bumble and bumble shampoo off my radar is pretty special, so much so I’ve been browsing other types of shampoos on the M&S Beauty website. If you’re interested in the products you can pick them up from there or from the Apivita website.
