The Review: Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray

After a day of blue skies down south and the Spring edition of my “What’s in my bag” post, I think we all need to officially call time on winter and and start getting into the spring summer mind set. This calls for a total life overhaul (in my opinion anyway), starting with bedroom and makeup organisation and running right through onto the hair side of things. The mane will be undergoing some extensive chopping and dying over the next few months, but until then I thought I’d get to grips with a couple of products that i’ll enoy using (even more than I do now) post overhaul. The first one being the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray…

First things first – if you’re new to salt sprays, pick up the travel size. It will allow you to get acquainted and see if it works for you without splashing out on the full size. It lasts ages anyway – this one’s still going strong! Lots of people use this pre blow dry so texture and waving action. My hair pretty much has a mind of its own anyway in the waves department and sometimes it just needs a little bit of texture as once straightened my locks tend to look very glossy and sleek. So recently i’ve been spritzing this on post styling to mess up the style and give it a slightly more textured and messy look.

I personally found that my love for this product depends completely on my hair length. Back at the beginning of the year when it was super long it used to just make it look ratty and unloved – and not in a good way. Now it’s shorter it just seems to work far better – especially when more layers are cut in as it can give your hair more lift at the roots as well as texture. Other people may not feel the same, but it’s something worth thinking about if you’re looking to pick this up.

The 50ml Surf Spray bottle is £8.50 and the 125ml is £20.50 and they’re pretty widely available since making their way into Boots. Alternatively if you’re looking for something a little more gentle and less drying then from what I’ve heard the Sachajuan Ocean Mist might be the one for you (available from cult beauty here)

I have the mini version of this but at this moment in time I think my hair is a little too long it just makes it knotty, so I might need a trim (gulp) fist 🙂

I didn't really get along with this one, it made my hair feel crunchy and sticky, maybe I was just overusing it, I'll have to give it another go now! x
