Stop what ever it is your doing and take a seat. I’ve had a hair cut, and for the first time – possibly in my life – I’ve had a hair cut and I like the result. As you can see from the photos, it’s still long, but the few inches I’ve lost has made the biggest difference – in a good way!
I’ve been itching to go shorter for a while now. We all know my hair was very long, and yes I know lots of people really liked it and it looked nice in my Instagram photos but in real life it was becoming very difficult to deal with (especially when it grew down to my waist). The reason I had long hair in the first place was quite literally because I wanted to hide behind it – the more hair there was, the less you could see of everything else, and I don’t feel that way anymore.
The last time I had my hair cut, I was meant to go shorter but chickened out – but this time I was sure it was what I wanted and after cutting an inch off a few weekends back I booked in to have the last inch off (I’ve been cutting my hair since I was 15, but my rule is that anything above boob level requires a pro). I went to my regular non-salon hair dresser and she did exactly what I wanted and took an inch off the ends, keeping the layers almost non existant and the front very long. I’m not one for lots of choppy-ness and I like a lot of weight on the front section, so it was pretty simple. Fast forward 45 minutes and I was back home wielding what felt like a new head of hair and cracking out my latest hair care investments.
I’m going for the messy look at the moment, but this length still looks lovely straight – so it’s a winner for me and my indecisive ways. It’s also helped me rediscover my love of haircare and styling, which is something I lost since having very long hair, it definitely makes me want to play around with it more – which means more hair-related posts! But what next? I don’t think I’ll be going shorter any time soon, but I think another round of blonde ends could be on their way…
It looks fab! Last week I got my near waistlength hair cut to this kind of length, and it's so much easier to look after! c
It looks great Hun, there's something so scary about having a lot of hair cut off isn't there?! I'm glad you like it though, it looks great messy! X

You are sooo beautiful, Suzie:-) Great cut.
I really really like it! It's such a brave decision to go shorter and it's made me want to chop all my hair off… xx
When I have an inch or so off (when im feeling brave) its amazing how much lighter your hair is and also how better the condition is! Maybe ill have a drastic chop after my wedding.
