Clockwise from the top:
Collection Illuminating Concealer | Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer | Origins Plantscription Concealer | Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer
Up until a few months ago I’d stuck with the same concealer for a good year, and I felt like I was becoming rather predictable in that area… Fast forward and look where I’ve ended up – they have their own compartment in my drawer of makeup loot! Since I’ve become the keeper of the concealers I thought I’d give you the low down on my favourites…
Best for dry skin: The best budget concealer for dry skin would have to be the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I find it gives a subtle glow to the skin which makes it good a good all rounder as you can use it both under the eyes and on spots. It’s not cakey at all but doesn’t give a super heavy coverage. I find that during the day this can wear off on me quite quickly as my skin can sometimes be more on the oily side – but for dryer skins I’d say this is a safe budget buy. The Origins Plantscription concealer is super moisturising and that’s the main reason why I was drawn to it – my under eye area can get very dry on occasion and this has just worked with it perfectly, especially with the pinky under tone (although this is a no go for blemishes!).
Best for oily skin: The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer was my first ever concealer purchase and it was the product that kick started my love affair with makeup – who knew you could get rid of your dark circles, eh? It has a great coverage with a long lasting, nautral finish – no illuminating effects or any fancy pants stuff, making it a great one for oilier days. If you’re looking for something a little more high end, try the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. Although it’s called a creamy concealer the consistency is much firmer than the others and gives great coverage with a natural finish. These are both my favourite concealers for blemishes too!
Best for under eyes: For those pesky “I wrote this blog post 2am” under eye bags (they can usually be seen on a Sunday – FYI!) I like to use the Origins Plantscription AND Collection Illuminating concealers – product heavy, I know, but hear me out. The pinky tones of the Plantscription concealer cancel out dark circles better than any other conceal I’ve tried so far. I then run a generous amount of the Collection illuminating concealer along the very bottom of the under eye area, right up and along my cheekbone. This no only gives a subtle glow where you’d usually use a highlighter, but also reflects the light a little off of the giant bags that feel like they’re about to drop off my face!
Blemish hiding concealers: I’ve already touched on the Collection Lasting Perfection and Bobbi Brown concealers, but it’s also worth noting that the Bourjois Health Mix concealer is great for blemishes as it has the coverage of the Collection concealer but with less of the cake (no, not the good kind of cake!). It’s also still fairly cheap (well, under Β£10), so if you’re looking for something with a tiny bit more moisture than the Lasting Perfection concealer this might be the ticket.
Best high-end: Origins Plantscription Concealer – there are no surprises here. I started using this and concealing will just never be the same again. It’s such an amazing product that I have it in more than one shade so I never have to be without it!
Best budget: Collection Illuminating Concealer – this is just the babe of all budget illuminating concealers. It helps to give me the Millie Mackintosh glow I dream about (oh, don’t roll your eyes, you know you do too!). I also use this for blemishes and redness as well, so if I suddenly had to stick to a seriously strict budget then this would be my BFF.
Lordy, I apologise for a crazy long post – congratulations if you made it this far!! – I hope this helped if you’re new to concealers and are unsure where to start, or even if you’re just on the hunt for a new one. Now pop quiz time for you lot – what should the next purchase be?
I wasn't a fan of the Wake me up concealar! Great post though!

really want to try out the Collection Illuminating Concealer! haha who wouldn't want a Millie's skin, it's literally perfect and so glowy! And I hate that the collections lasting perfecting concealer doesn't have a range of shades, the medium is a tad too light for me! X
I live off Collection 2000 concealer! It's a god sent!X

Great post, really helpful! I heard so much about the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque I broke down and got it. While I do like it, it's a little to drying. I'm definitely adding the Wake Me Up Concealer and Plantscription to my shopping list.
Thanks!
