The Edit: Get Your Glow On

There’s nothing I love more than healthy, glowing skin – I’m super glad the matte look has had it’s moment because my skin is naturally more on the dewy side and I really couldn’t be bothered with powder touch ups! With glowing skin sticking around for at least the next year I’m fully embracing it and have a fair few products in my stash for when I need to add some extra glow.

We all know that the healthy glow comes partially from what you put into your body, and although I try to be good, sometimes you just can’t not have one too many amaretto and cherry cokes. In this situation the Nuxe multi use body oil (i’ll be damned if I’m typing its full name out at 9am on the train) and Estée Lauder advanced night repair work a little bit of glory magic on your skin whilst you snooze.

Base-wise the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and YSL touché éclat foundation add radiance to dull skin. For warmer days (yes those currently non-existent days) I like to give my face a lift by using highlighters. For a simple champagne highlight I switch between the Jemma Kidd dewy glow and for a more bronzey highlight I blend in Benefits Sunbeam liquid highlighter. When it comes to powder highlights  I like to go down the whole multi purpose route -the Laura Mercier blush in lush nectarine or my elf bronzer add both colour and lift my cheeks. If I’m looking for more of a “holiday glow” the Soeil Tan De Chanel Bronzer is perfect for keeping things dewy as it’s a cream product.

When it comes to eyes, I like to use Nylon by MAC to highlight (Note: only on paler days – in summer this would be a recipe for “clown makeup”) with Arena by MAC adding a pop of bronzey colour to the lid.

So, I’ve got glowey skin down – but with all these glowing powder products that need setting, I’ve  also been on the hunt for a light reflecting powder to add into the mix – how did that go? That’s for another day, but a trip to Space NK might have happened…

I have such oily skin that adding anything dewy is a definite no no, but I really wish I could, because these products sound lovely! :)xo

It depends on what kind of finish you like and how oily you are. I personally wouldn't wear it in the summer when i'm at my oiliest because I'd just look sweaty. But for the cooler seasons this works even at the end of the day when my skins at its oiliest x

ah, so THAT's your secret, you type your posts on the train! I wondered how manage to post so frequently but are so busy!
I too love the benefits Highbeam, but in the summer my bobby brown shimmer brick in bronze is my bestest bud, although i've hit pan on it so not sure it'll last through this summer!

lovely post! I prefer dewy and glowy skin to matte, but i suffer from oily skin so sometimes it's difficult for me to look dewy and not oily at the same time. I really want to try the chanel bronze universal.

I really want to experiment with beauty products which give me a dewey look as my skin is a bit blergh and dull at the moment! This has really come in handy 🙂
Do you have any specific foundation recommendations for a dewey look?

This is a great post, I absolutely love Benefits sunbeam and I really want to try the YSL foundation. My favourite light reflecting powder is MAC's magically cool powder, It keeps my makeup from sliding off but also keeps the lovely dewy look I favour 🙂
