If there’s one thing I love almost as much as nude lips, it’s got to be dark lips… pinky shades and orange toned reds belong in the depths of summer, therefore a dark plum colour is what’s needed to cure the winter blues and will see us through the dark mornings/evenings and possibly even the snow that’s been forecast (FYI it’s a big deal down the south of England – the world basically stops functioning).
I own a fair few yummy berry tones, but my favourite combination of late has got to be my Topshop Lipliner in Deception. It doesn’t budge, and creates a lovely full lip look (annoyingly, something I lack on the upper lip, but not the bottom). I then pair this with one of two lipsticks – Rimmel’s 107 from the Kate Moss range if I want something slightly warmer and lighter or Topshops Inhibition if I fancy going for something really dark and in your face. Note; Inhibition was used in the photo above, apparently I was feeling rather sassy that day.
Throughout the day these can wear slightly and feel a little drying – especially in 107’s case, so I slick on a little of the Fresh Berry Sugar Lip Balm. Ready for the controversial statement – I really really really dislike the smell of this. So many people love it but I just find it overpowering. That aside, it’s a beautiful tinted lip balm – and in stick form which I love for many reasons. You can’t find it in the UK, but if you’re taking a trip across the pond you should definitely take a peek at Fresh products
For now, this lip combo is perfect, but how long will it take me until I’m longing to crack out my favourite summer shades?… That remains to be seen.
