The Makeup: Autumnal Lips

I love a bold lip, and nude lips of course, but bold lips are something I like to change by the season and come autumn, the darker the better. In my October favourites video, I was sporting a dark muted mauve (Yves shade 107 Mauve), and much more recently there’s been a new favourite dark autumnal shade in town. So I thought it was time to introduce you to my current go-to Autumn/Winter lip products.

Red lips are always a winner, so if I’m feeling daring, the darker red tones of Ruby Woo by MAC (far left) look perfect on nights out with an all black outfit. I find the matte finish fits really well with the heavier coverage foundations I tend to lean towards in the winter months. If I’m feeling not so daring, I’ll pick up my Barry M lipstick in shade 152 (far right), a more warm toned version of the Yves lipstick in shade 107. Both are lovely if you want a slightly darker lip, but don’t feel comfortable with deep plums or black.

My favourite of the bunch is a more recent purchase… One I hunted down as this shade sells out even faster that the classic red or nude shades! The Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in shade 107 (yes another shade 107, weird I know!) looks absolutely gorgeous on a variety of skin tones, it’s also perfect for the current season so I had to grab it. I love a bold lip colour that looks great with minimal make up as well as a full face, and this does just that, making it super wearable as I never feel over done.

So, what do you think, bold lips or nude lips for Autum/Winter? I think the bold lip is definitely winning it for me this year…

Bold lips for sure. Although both are very pretty, i just think there is something so festive and fun about bright and muddy reds for the fall, dont you think? A nude lip looks great and fresh in the summer. Fall is for the deepest of the deeps! I agree with you.

I'm a sucker for a red lip, though I tend to be a fan all year round – varying my shades of red by the season :L Recently bought the Rimmel 107 and 111 and I really like them, so much more than I thought I would like any drugstore lip product ever!

I love a dark lip for autumn but I've only used MAC lipstick, I haven't seen any drugstore ones that I like but the Kate Moss one that everyone is using looks very nice, I may have to try that out!

Absolutely love the Kate Moss 107 shade! It took me sooooo long to get hold of it though, it was selling out every time I went to visit Boots or Superdrug!

You can't beat a good red lip at this time of year, it looks so chic with minimal make up.

I've been dying to get my hands on the Kate Moss 107 but to no avail 🙁 The quest continues…

That Barry M 152 lipstick looks lovely! I seem to be loving nude lips far too much at the moment but that one looks like something I could definitely wear. I'm still trying to get my hands on the Rimmel 107 too, it's so pretty!

I tend to go through phases – last winter I loved really dark eyes and nude lips but this year it's the opposite! I love bold lips and much more natural eyes! I have Rimmel and Kate Moss 107 lipstick too, I love it! x

Bold lips are my favourites. Nudes wash me out and I have big lips so bold and statement lips are the way for me. 107 is beautiful (Kate) and I've almost run out of Ruby Woo as I'm applying it with a lipbrush from inside the tube now.

Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested
to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube
sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is completely off topic but I had to share
    it with someone!
