This months Glossybox* was the International Superstars box, and whilst there was at least one thing in the box I liked, I didn’t like it as much as last months box. I think it was just the products included weren’t to my taste, I love an even mix of makeup skin and hair care, but only one of these things was something I made an “oooooh!” noise at (my mum also did… naturally it puts you off a tiny bit!). The item in question was the Glossybox own lipstick in Glossy Pink. I like it lightly applied and rubbed in for a nice natural pink, it’s actually a colour I’ve been after for a while.
Seeing the Lipcote original lipstick sealer in my box really made me feel it would be a box tailored to my mum, she used to use this when I was little, so as well as making me feel nostalgic, this box will also win me brownie points when I pass items on to her.
The one product I was not so impressed by was the Vera Valenti L’ombre a Paupiere Margarita eye shadow palette. The eye shadow pallet is very chalky and has very little pigment, it only retails at £3.85 for 10 colours, but I’d rather spend a little more on one eyeshadow than a product which is a bit pants.
Overall, it wasn’t my favourite box, but it wasn’t terrible. My mum will be over the moon with so many of these items which really shows that if one box doesn’t work for you, then it will for someone else. I feel like this box may have been slightly rushed – I’ve never had a box arrive a week early before – but I feel this might be down to the preparation for the September box which is rumored to be a goodie! Needless to say, I’m looking forward to September…
