You guys know I love a good bank holiday outfit post, they seem to be the only time of year when I have the extra time to get off my bum and do these (could potentially be down to the extra day…doh!). Anyway, me and my lovely boyfriend went shopping on Saturday for my birthday presents, as it’s just over a month away, and he was stressing because I couldn’t even think of anything I wanted.
The issue with early birthday present shopping is that I see things I want and I don’t want to wait a month for them! Along with a couple of other bits and pieces, I nabbed this skirt form River Island. Its high waisted (on me anyway) with a split on the left hand side and has a mini skirt underneath to cater for your dignity. The thing I love most about it is the colour, River Island have this skirt in a fair few colours and textures, most being autumnal shades with 0 shimmer. This baby is grey, with a slight lilac undertone and a shimmery effect that will either seal the deal for you or make you run a mile.
For me it was definitely a “love at first sight” purchase, made better by the price, £24 is an absolute steal! The non shimmery shades are even better at £22 and I spotted them on a few of my favourite bloggers recently, so I’m sure I was subconsciously on the hunt for one. I know summer is pretty much over (Reading Festival always marks the end for me) but I decided I could justify buying this skirt at the end of August as I’m going to the south of France in two weeks and this skirt will also look amazing on a night out with some black heels – so it will definitely be well loved! I wore this skirt yesterday with sandals, a leather jacket and plain
vest top as the weather was surprisingly good and I needed to have my
ankles bare as I was getting tattooed (post coming soon)!
P.S I’ve changed my blog layout slightly, let me know what you think! 🙂
