Essie’s Cute as a Button is one of my favourite nail polishes ever. I feel like its a more chilled out alternative to a neon pink. There’s something very Barbie about it and my time tonight (other than spending it preping masses of blog posts) has been spent painting my nails with this. It’s part of the diffusion line, so this beaut has the most amazing brush, it covers my whole nail in one sweep (please note, I have tiny hands) distributes evenly and leaves the ail so smooth. The formula is almost perfect, its not too thick and by no means sheer, and dries in record time – this for me is a winning factor when it comes to painting my nails. I’d say three coats is ideal for this, but it could easily be left at two for those with shorter nails, or those who aren’t bothered by being able to see where the white of the nail starts (it really bugs me!).
Between shaping and painting my nails, I quickly apply the Avene hand cream, I really fine a good hand cream preps the nails as well as making the cuticals a little softer, and justs makes the experience that little bit more enjoyable. Weird fact: this hand cream smells exactly like my best friends house!
What are your Essie recommendations? I’ve been both bought and recommended Tarte Deco for my toes, and I have big spender for when I’m feeling slightly bolder! I think my next purchases will have to be a very bright red and a very deep purple.
