Recently, a natural, glowing complexion is all I’ve been striving for. I love walking out of the house in the morning knowing my skin is glowing and looks healthy. Since introducing the products below into my skincare and make up routine I’ve had so many more compliments on my skin, so this look is definitely a keeper!
(From L to R: Jemma Kidd All Over Radiance Cream, Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist, Elf Warm Bronzer, Origins Mega Bright Serum, MAC MSFN in Sun Power)
The best start to this routine is always a good base, and I don’t just mean your foundation or primer. In my opinion, this look will always work at it’s best when your skin is in good condition, it will mean you need to add less products to your routine which not only makes this look easier to achieve but will keep you from having to worry about being too oily and products sliding around when it gets too hot… Dewy foundations anyone? If your skin is dryer, you won’t have to worry about this too much, but for me (with my combo skin type) less is most definitely more. I try to eat all the right foods, cut out the junk, and drink lots of water to keep my skin hydrated.
Along side these products I use my standard skin care and a small amount make up, but these are the products I reach for when I want that healthy glow…
Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist
Me and this little guy are best friends, I picked this up as a cheaper alternative to the Caudalie spray, and I don’t think there effects are even close, but this baby is the bomb! After Cleansing, I spray this all over my face (if you have dryer skin an extra spray may be needed) and it gives it an amazing dewy appearance and makes the rest of my make up look so healthy. I love this stuff so much I have one at home and one in my bag at all times!
Dr Andrew Weil Mega Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum
Yes it’s a mouthful to say, and it’s pretty bloody expensive, but it my skin is looking particularly poo, this is an absolute babe! It really brightens up your complexion and gives it a nice glow and preps your skin for the next products.
Mac MSFN in Sun Power
I can’t count the amount of people that think I’m crazy for cracking this out on a daily basis, but it is truly love. I’ve never looked orange after applying this, I just look as if I’ve got a healthy tan. It probably isn’t for everyone as our skin tones are all different, but even using a gradual or fake tan the night before will give the same effect and will just make you look a little healthier and feel a bit more comfortable about wearing lighter make up.
Elf Warm Bronzer
Firstly, let me bring your attention to the fact I’ve hit pan on this! This has only ever happened to one other item in my life! (Clinique eyeshadow in Daybreak = favourite eyeshadow ever!) It’s a lovely bronzer that gives a healthy glow. I used to just use my every day bronzer, and then I realised how much nicer having a little bit of shimmer on your cheeks is. It had a little highlighting section too which is great for a quick dusting over the cheeks if you want a quick powder highlighter. It’s so affordable too which is one of the most lovely thing about it.
Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Cream Highlighter
I picked this up from Feel unique a few weeks ago and it is beautiful! If I’m having a day where I want to step up my game that little bit more, I’ll use this over the tops of my cheek bones, in my tear duct, and to highlight my brow bone. It’s amazing and looks so natural, which is something too many highlighters don’t do well.
After a late night sometimes you need to wake up your eyes as well as your skin, there’s only so much an eye cream can do, so I quickly swipe my natural collection white eyeliner on my waterline, just to give the illusion that I’m actually awake.
It’s hard to find the perfect photo that really shows this look off on my face as most of them are personal photos, but the photo of me at the end of my Glossybox post, is a fairly good demonstration of this look, but bear in mind it was after a full day of work so it’s not overly fresh!
What is your favourite look for summer? Do you have any essential items you think I should try? Let me know as I love your recommendations
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

The Simple product looks great, I'm going to have a look for it when I pop into Boots.
I am in love with the Jemma Kidd highlighter as well! I think I'll be picking up the Simple hydro mist, I bet it'll be fantastic for using on a plane as my skin always gets really dry and my Fix + is too big to take on board. I love this summer series, by the way! xx
I think it will be perfect for traveling with, I've already planned to take mine in my hand luggage!
the simple product looks really good. just wondering, does it have a strong scent? because i know the caudalie product does and i'm always wary of things with strong scents xx
As far as I can tell it has little or no scent. Simple are well known for not having products with strong scents and it says on the bottle that it is unscented, unlike the Caudalie spray which has a crazy strong smell!
I'm loving a healthy glow at the moment too, but without the sun it's so difficult to acheive! I live by my MAC MSFN and I'll definitely be trying the Jemma Kidd Highlighter and Simple Moisture Boost! X
The elf bronzer sounds really good! I like to mix some matte bronzer with mac MSFN in soft & gentle and it's great.
xx
really wanna try that jk radiance cream! I used to have that elf bronzer and i loved it, think i may repurchase! Nice post xx
I like glowing skin too. It looks perfect for the summer. I agree with you about starting with good base.
