This is a product that so many people request a review on every time it features in a post, so today I thought I’d give my two cents on the Sleek Pout Polishes.
(Upper left: Electro Peach, upper right: Powder Pink, lower left: Peach Perfection, lower right: Pink Cadillac)
These are the current tinted lip conditioners I own, some I love, and some are just okay but I don’t use them everyday. The first thing I like about them is the packaging (packaging junkie alert!!!), I like the shape and the lid design. It’s a matte feel so it instantly moves away from looking like a cheaper tinted lip moisturiser and I like that you can then see through to the colour of the product on the side. I love all of them for their thick consistency, and the fact that they are so moisturising (however I recommend using a lip scrub before applying as they can exaggerate dry lips. I also love the fact that all the colours are really pigmented (with the exception of Peach Perfection which seems to be slightly on the sheer side)
My two favorites are Peach Perfection and Electro Peach. Peach Perfection is beautiful for everyday use, it can be worn alone or over lipstick. It’s completely non offensive and just gives your lips a slight nude sheen. The more I use it the more I want the Nude shade that Sleek have in the collection but it’s always sold out in Superdrug! Electro Peach is my current favorite for wearing with pastel colours. Its a perfect spring/summer shade and looks lovely with my Lush Nectarine blush. Powder Pink and Pink Cadillac are lovely products but I just don’t wear them as much, I’m not so much a fan of pink shades anymore, but if you are they’re probably perfect!
The one thing I’ve found with this product is that the more pigmented shades are more likely to stick in the creases in your lips (cue the lip scrub) and they’re also slightly different in their consistency – being slightly less creamy and a tiny bit more sticky – when I say tiny, this was on very close observation!
Overall I really like these and I think they’re really good value for money. They make a really lovely change to a standard Vasaline (and also look really cue lined up in a row in my make up drawer!). These retail for around or under £4.50, and I would recommend these if you like products like these – they’re not for everyone obviously, my best friend’s a serious lip balm lover and she gave me my first two of these because she didn’t like them. But anyway, for those of you who requested this, I hope I was mildly helpful!
