So Monday night, it was my best friends birthday, and prepare me for the night ahead I decided I’d need my best and most long lasting foundation. Only one problem… My matt Lumiere that I stocked up on is in my summer colour and I’m currently sharing the same foundation shade as Casper the friendly ghost. Only joking, but I’m still very pale. Instead of sulking about not being able to use it, I decided to purchase a lighter foundation and mix them. But which one?
I went for the highly blogged about Bourjois Health Mix Serum in shade 51 (two below my current colour and probably about 3 or 4 shades lighter than 40 beige!) I haven’t tried it alone yet as it would be far too pale, but I have to say it worked so well mixed with my Mat Lumiere! If anything it made it look better! The combination of the mat formula with the Bourjois foundation (which if I’m right is meant to be only slightly dewy) made the perfect dewy glow for me as my skin is naturally slightly oily. I was initially really worried about trying a high street foundation – I didn’t want it to break me out as my skin is suffering so much right now any way, but it really gave me the confidence to go out without worrying about my skin. So that made it amazing. I think I’m going to purchase it again in my current colour and test it out alone as well. Surprisingly I want to love this! Especially for its £10.99 price tag!
So now I can wear my favorite foundation even though I’m slightly pasty – I’m a very happy girl. Now I’m very aware that Chanel Mat Lumiere has now been discontinued *cries!*. Trying out Perfection Lumiere broke my heart as it make my skin look horrible and brought out lumps on my face! So when my current Chanel stash is gone, I think i’ll be converting to doublewear and mixing it with the Bourjois foundation.
Anyway, what a ramble! I’m so tired I need to watch Gossip Girl and sleep! If you want to see a face of the night from Monday then let me know! And also let me know if you’ve used the Healthy Mix Serum alone and tell me your thoughts as i’m quite excited to try it properly now!
