Happy New Year! I hope you all had an amazing time last night, after having a drama filled NYE last year I chose to spend my end to 2011 with my boyfriend and his family. Now that we’ve hit 2012 – and I will be turning 21 this year – I’ve decided that I need to start taking better care of myself and my skin. Que new years resolution…
Until recently, I’d never given too much thought on what products I use on my skin, the Simple moisturising face wash was good enough for me and only in September did I purchase my first moisturiser (No.7 Balanced Results moisturiser above). However after my mum handed down the Clarins One Step Cleanser to me, I realised that my face wash still wasn’t removing every scrap of make up from my face – it was doing a pretty good job considering I wear medium to heavy coverage foundations.
I decided it might be wise to invest in the Clarins Cleansing Milk and Toning Lotion (both for combination/oily skin) to see if it makes a difference to my skin (I will let you know how I feel about them throughout January). I use the Cleansing Milk after using my face wash at night, and then finish with the toner afterwards, I could use the Cleansing Milk without the face wash but I think it’s unnecessary to use up so much product so quickly. I then use the One Step Cleansing Water in the morning to freshen up my face and take off any extra dirt I’ve picked up over night. Its a lovely simple cleanser to use first thing in the morning as it carries an amazing peachy smell. However it’s not really strong enough alone to be used to take off heavy make up, so I do just use it in the morning.
I also purchased the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream after speaking to my mum about her skin history as I felt it was best to tackle the early signs of wrinkles before they become too distinguished. It’s a really lovely cream – slightly granny scented but still nice – and I’m enjoying putting this on before bed. I also picked up the Origins VitaZing Moisturiser with my Christmas Boots voucher the other day, as I’ve been really wanting to test it out, I only started using this a few mornings ago, but it did make my skin look noticeably healthier, so I like it so far… apart from the smell, that’s not so yummy.
I’m also considering trying the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish at some point too, as one of the girls at work raves about it, so that could be coming my way soon too!
So that’s my main new years resolution, my others are to move out, and to find a permanent job. Let me know if you have any new years resolutions or have any products that should be added to my little skincare routine!
Thank you all for reading and following, I hope 2012 brings you all you wish for and more!

Great new year's resolutions! In the last 2 years my skin has become much more of a focus; historically I had slightly dry, but completely clear skin; without having to take any care of it; but the last 2 years have been filled with oily skin and breakouts… so perhaps this year a couple of facials might be in order! I think whatever we can do to look after our skin now, will defo pay off in the future… I will ensure that I wear SPF everyday too, despite living in cloudy ol England – it is a must! x
I really want to try out the Clarins Cleansing Milk and Toning Lotion. I also need to take care of my skin. I will add this to my new year resolution list. xx
Clarins is a great product. I hear only good things about it. Please do let us know how it works after a while of use.
